Draft dreams became reality for Michael Staudinger during the third day of the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. With their 26th round selection the Chicago White Sox picked Staudinger, 777 Overall pick.
The Azusa Pacific had his best season in 2017 when the junior was named to the PacWest all-conference squad. He was second on the team with a .359 batting average while playing in all but two of the squad's 54 games. He smashed a career best 11 homeruns en route to a .647 slugging percentage. He was second on the team with three triples while tying for the second most steals (8) on the squad.
